2025 has been a landmark year for Song for Charlie. With a five-year track record of success, our team and partners have established SFC as a leader in the movement to educate kids and families about the risks of the new chemical drug landscape and the importance of building resilience in our youth.
This spring marked a turning point in our mission to turn grief into action. Five years after losing Charlie, Song for Charlie is scaling its impact—bringing life-saving education to classrooms nationwide, forging powerful partnerships, and reaching tens of thousands of young people with a message we know Charlie would be proud of.
Our Impact, Your Support. Thank you for making 2024 a year of lifesaving impact. From classrooms to ballparks, digital platforms to national stages, your support has empowered us to educate more young people and families about the dangers of fentanyl and fake pills. Together, we’re turning awareness into action and closing the knowledge gap to save lives.
The data is clear: Teens who hear about “fentapills” are less likely to misuse pills. In fact, fentanyl deaths among 15–24 year-olds declined 9% in 2022 while deaths in the All Ages category rose another 4%. We take this as an encouraging sign that our message is having an impact nationwide. None of this life-saving work is possible without you.
Song for Charlie is well positioned to help reinvent our national response, specifically as we modernize our approach to drug education. We have attracted allies with expertise in youth mental health, developmental neuroscience, harm reduction, prevention and other relevant disciplines. We will harness their knowledge to create content that resonates with young people and empowers them to act.
